Senior ASP.Net Developer: Chunk Ideas Ltd

Glasgow, May - July 2006 (Contract)

Contracted to develop ASP.Net and AJAX solutions for the Foster's Laidback Legends campaign website. The website is essentially an imitation of YouTube - users can upload video clips through the website or from their mobile phones, which are then voted and ranked in a leaderboard. This was a very exciting application to work on as it brought together some of the more popular aspects of the web and mobile into a single project, as well as the fact that I was required to make use of a variety of skills. The campaign is still running and Chunk continue to employ me on an ad-hoc basis.

Web Developer: Real Developments Ltd/Lion Nathan Ltd

Auckland, New Zealand, Dec 1999 -  Dec 2004

I was offered a permanent package by Auckland-based company Real Developments in 1999, where I was using Cold Fusion and Access, and later ASP and MS SQL 7. The flat structure typical of SMEs (RD was 3 years old) allowed me to learn a variety of skills very quickly, and I applied myself to email & domain administration, SQL database design, optimisation, index construction, as well as an introduction to OLAP. In 2002 Real Developments was acquired by Lion Nathan/Lion Breweries and re-branded to 'Real'.
